Length: 4 weeks Program description Our teacher-intern training program provides participants intensive, hands-on training in foreign language instruction. The participants will receive rigorous classroom training in teaching Chinese to non-native speakers, focusing on pre-K and elementary education. They will assist class activities, afterschool enrichment programs, and lead their own classes under the supervision of experienced teachers. Through this program, participants will also have opportunities to observe classes in different school systems in Austin Independent School District. Who can apply? a. Native speakers of Chinese. b. Bachelor degree or above, with a focus on education, foreign language teaching (Chinese and/or TESOL), or other related majors. c. Minimum of 1- year teaching experience, or current enrollment in graduate school for related studies. d. Strong English proficiency. e. Completed background check through the Department of Public Safety in China. Successful candidates will also be required to complete fingerprinting and/or background checks in US. f. First Aid Training in US through Red Cross or equivalent. |
